Based in Rutland, VT
I am documentary filmmaker whose work looks at feminist, women, fat bodies, and LGBTQ+ issues, with a focus on body politics. I find it especially pertinent to make films about women and queer bodies in this day and age, as a way to bring attention to voices that are often silenced.
I received my M.F.A. in Cinema from San Francisco State University. There, I developed the short film, The Body I Live In, which follows myself and my wife on my journey of self-love and acceptance, in a world that tells fat women they don’t deserve it. The Body I Live In won three national awards at film festivals, and has screened internationally at prominent film festivals and conferences.
I am currently working on a documentary web series about the pain and trauma of often marginalized bodies, and the opportunity that radical self love can offer to societal change and resistance.
Currently, I am an Assistant Professor in the Media & Communication Department at Castleton University, where I teach Video & Filmmaking.
